In the average male, the chest should be relatively flat, and the breasts should be very small in size and have should have a more noticeable amount of muscle definition. There are many men who have enlarged breasts, often referred to as “man boobs,” that are a result of the medical condition known as gynecomastia.

Gynecomastia causes the excess production of glandular tissue in the male breasts, which in turn causes the male breasts to grow abnormally large.

There are many men who any also suffer from something known as pseudogynecomastia. Men with this issue do not have any excess glandular tissue, but they do have a large amount of excess fat in their breasts.

Liposuction can be performed to help reduce the amount of fat in the breasts to create a flatter and stronger-looking chest. Excision surgery can be done to remove excess glandular tissue in the breasts.
